Patients undergoing medical antithrombotic treatment may have hematoma formation after undergoing image-guided breast biopsy, although this does not warrant the risks of stopping the medication.

When flat ductal intraepithelial neoplasia is found on core biopsy, surgical excisional biopsy is advised.
