Statement of Need:
As is commendable by the ACCME criteria, CME is integrated into the process for improving professional practice with educational strategies implemented to remove, overcome or address barriers to physician change. Physicians are unable to consistently integrate new information into their practices because of the ways new medical knowledge is structured and disseminated, and the time it takes to completely scan for new information. Practical Reviews publications selects and translates peer-reviewed literature for practical use therefore diminishing the barrier of time.
Intended Audience:
Oncologists and others interested in the diagnosis and treatment of neoplastic diseases.
Special Prerequisites for Participants:
There are no prerequisites for participants.
Learning Objective:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Appraise current and clinically useful information from the monthly literature covering cancer management, along with related disorders.
- Discuss controversies, advantages and disadvantages of specific diagnostic and treatment plans, including pharmaceutical and surgical options.
- Apply reported findings in the reviews of the latest basic science findings to clinical situations.
- Assess the impact of these on clinical problems, as well as concise, targeted lectures by noted specialists on the most important practice-oriented subjects in these areas.
- Discuss the most important information and perspectives presented in the monthly reviews.
