Digital Therapeutics Show Emerging Clinical Benefit in Migraine Management


Background: Migraine is among the most prevalent and disabling neurologic disorders worldwide. Despite advances in pharmacologic therapy—including calcitonin gene-related peptide–targeted treatments—many patients continue to experience incomplete response or limited access to specialty care. Digital therapeutics are increasingly being explored as adjunctive strategies for migraine management. Objective: To evaluate digital and virtual interventions for migraine. Design: Systematic review of randomized and quasi-randomized trials. Methods: Searches of MEDLINE and EMBASE through September 2025 identified 12 eligible trials assessing digital behavioral therapy, remote electrical neuromodulation (REN), virtual reality (VR), digital biofeedback, and telemedicine approaches.
