Single-Day Accelerated TMS Shows High Response, Sustained Remission in Depression


Background: Conventional transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) protocols for depression require daily treatments over several weeks, creating logistical barriers and limiting accessibility. Accelerated paradigms aim to condense treatment delivery while maintaining efficacy, although concerns remain regarding tolerability, durability, and real-world feasibility. Neuroplasticity-enhancing strategies, including pharmacologic augmentation and high-frequency session delivery, may further optimize outcomes, but clinical data outside controlled trials are limited.
