Smoking Cessation Rates 1.5 Times Better With Nicotine Gum


Nicotine gum is an over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapy that is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for smoking cessation. The 4-mg strength of nicotine gum may be used by highly dependent smokers (>25 cigarettes/day). The full dose is absorbed in about 20 minutes.
