Got Succinylcholine, Need Dantrolene?


Background: Succinylcholine is the drug of choice to treat laryngospasm, but may trigger malignant hyperthermia (MH). Objective: To review the risks and benefits of stocking succinylcholine. Design: Literature review and author opinion. Discussion: Laryngospasm is thought to be more common in children. The reported rates of laryngospasm vary from 0.1% to 5.0%.
