Study of the Hippocampus and Its Subfields Is Easier With 7T MRI


Background: MRI is important for evaluating degenerative dementias, especially in ruling out potentially reversible causes. Increasing static field strength from 1.5 to 3 Tesla (T) has improved imaging of macro and microstructures in the brain but still measures in millimeters, far from the size of neurodegenerative dementia pathologies.
