FAQ

What type of content do I have access to?

As a Practical Reviews subscriber, you have unlimited access to our entire content library of all 23 medical and dental specialties we offer.

How often will I receive updated content?

Practical Reviews Issues are published monthly.

How will I know when I have updated content available?

You will receive a monthly email notification to the email address listed on your account. If you are an audio CD subscriber, you will receive your CDs in the mail as new issues are published

How far back can I see content?

Upon initial subscription date, you will receive access to our entire content library. Please note: only articles published in the last 36 months have CME active credits available.

How do I add an article to my Favorites?

While viewing an article, you can add it to your Favorites page to bookmark for later by selecting Favorite at the top of the article. This article can then be found on your Favorites page until you choose to delete it.

What do the icons represent throughout the site?

CE Earned – indicates you have already earned credits on this article

Key Article - The golden key indicates the Key Reviews that the Coordinator (who hand selects articles for each month’s issue) chooses for each issue as the “key articles” to read within that issue. These are usually hot topics, new technology, groundbreaking results, or even validation of previous findings.

How can I search for a specific topic?

With access to the entire medical/dental library, your customized search is easier than ever by topic, specialty and credit category. Begin your search in the Search bar located in the top right corner of every page.

How can I take a quiz?

You can take a quiz a few different ways. First option, you can select Take this Issue Quiz at the top of your Issue and take all of the questions at once. Second option, you can answer the Article questions one at a time at the bottom of each Article. If you begin with taking an Article Quiz, you may not swap to taking the Issue Quiz (or vice versa) – you must finish the quiz in the format you begin.

An alternative option, you can take a “Compiled Quiz” comprised of all your pre-selected Favorite articles, by selecting the Favorites tab and clicking Take Compiled Quiz at the top of the page.

Where is my Quiz Code?

Your Quiz Code can be located on the Quiz Sheet from the Issue you download online or within your monthly print/audio CD subscription. However, a Quiz Code is not required to take a quiz. See “How can I take a quiz?” to take a quiz without a Quiz Code.

How many credits can I earn in a year?

You can earn an unlimited number of CE credits in a year with your Practical Reviews subscription.

Where can I find how many credits I have earned?

Your credits earned this calendar year to date can be easily referenced on the Track Credits page. Please note: Credits entered from other sources are not included in your total credits earned this year.

How can I tell if I have already earned credits for an article?

You can easily see which articles you have earned CE for if there is a checkmark symbol next to the article name.

Chemotherapy for Patients With Intermediate 21-Gene Recurrence Scores

Tsai M, Lo S, et al: JAMA Oncol; 2018;4 (January): e173470

How can I print a certificate?

On the Track Credits page, select your required criteria (i.e. date range, specialty and/or credit category), select preferred certificate type (i.e. “Summary Certificate” with high level summary or “Detail Certificate” with activities broken out), then click Download Certificate which will create a PDF certificate to print or share digitally.

If I have more than one product from Oakstone, will I see credits earned from those products on the Track Credits page too?

Yes, your Track Credits page is your one stop resource for all CE earned using Oakstone products, with the exception of CMEinfo standalone programs at this time.

How can I track credits from other sources?

On the Track Credits page, simply click the Add/View Credits from Other Sources button which allows you to add as many external credits as you wish. Please note that because we cannot validate non-Oakstone activities, credits entered here cannot be claimed when you create certificates, and they will not be included in your annual credit total.

How do I download the mobile app?

Visit your app store and download the Practical Reviews App to your mobile device.

Get it on Google Play

How can I access the audio on the mobile app?

Once logged into the Practical Reviews App, select your specialty, the issue you’d like to view, and accept the Disclosure Agreement. On the next screen, at the top left, you should see an option that says Add to Playlist. (This addition to playlist is how you obtain the audio and the quiz for a particular issue.)

After selecting Add to Playlist, a question and three options will appear. Yes means the audio and quiz will stream from our servers, as long as you have an uninterrupted internet connection; and No cancels the download.

How can I download the audio to my iPhone for one or more Practical Reviews issues instead of using the mobile app?

Note: This process requires the iOS Podcast App. If you do not have the iOS Podcast App, you can download it for free from the App Store.

Once logged into PracticalReviews.com from your mobile browser, select a volume and issue to review, and you will see download options at the top of the issue index page. Click on Enhanced Podcast. The podcast window will open and ask if you want to add the podcast. Choose Subscribe. You will then see the name of the volume and issue pop up and there will be a download process running.

Once the download process is complete, the screen will light up and you will see your issue on the right, with a blue dot to the left, which means the issue has downloaded completely.

When you click on the title of the issue on the right, the blue dot will change to a speaker icon and the issue will play continuously through the last article.

Note: For help downloading an issue via Windows Media, please contact a Customer Service Specialist by calling 800-633-4743.

How do I submit my quiz on the mobile app?

Practical Reviews subscribers must answer all questions for a particular issue before they will be allowed to submit that issue’s quiz. Each time an answer is provided, an orange dot will appear next to the corresponding article’s title in the playlist. Once all reviews that have questions associated with them have been answered, the Submit button will become active and your quiz can be submitted.
