Retrorectal Space Cysts With Solid Components Are Suspicious for Malignancy


Background: This study discusses the MRI characteristics of retrorectal space cystic lesions. Design: Retrospective single-center study. Methods: 28 patients with 31 lesions were retrospectively reviewed during a 14-year period. Two radiologists reviewed the MRI characteristics of the lesions independently. Pathological correlation was performed. Results: 16 lesions were characterized as tailgut cysts, 9 as teratomas, 4 as lesions of colorectal origin, and 2 as neurogenic lesions. more...
